FAIL TO THE CHIEF

They say that history is written by the winners.

But the losers can be a lot more interesting.

FAIL TO THE CHIEF is a hilarious collection of biographies of those poor yet privileged souls who lost the race for President of the United States of America. Get to know all the lovable losers of American history, from Aaron Burr to William Jennings Bryan, from Barry Goldwater to Hillary Clinton, in this masterful weaving of political history and nonpartisan snarkasm. Find out who America didn't choose at clutch time - any why.

Humorist Thom Woodley adapts his long-running podcast by discussing each major nominee (and a few special third party candidates), exploring their backgrounds, the conditions that led to their nominations, the way they ran their campaigns - and then making (semi)-educated guesses about the actions they would have taken and the world they would have left behind, had they been elected.

Volume I covers the years 1788-1928. Volume II covers the years 1932-2020.

TELEVISION GRAVEYARD

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

An Amish man is found dead in his trailer under unclear circumstances. A Hollywood YouTuber comes back home to reinvigorate the love of his life. A youth pastor struggles with his demons. An unappreciated mall cop strives to solve a series of television thefts. A social worker tries to find the home of the mute boy dropped off anonymously to her care.

Thirteen strangers' lives intersect, each one with something another desperately wants, and desperately wanting something another has. The grass is always greener - even when it's growing through the corpse of a television or the floor of an abandoned steel plant in a forgotten town.

GAME WRITING

In 2016, I made my dream come true by writing and designing plotlines for James Bond himself - in Glu Mobile’s James Bond: World of Espionage, the official mobile game for Britain’s favorite super spy.

In 2012, San Francisco game company Pocketgems approached me to help them develop a platform for a new format in mobile games: interactive storytelling. In 2013 we brought to the Canadian and UK markets the first installment of Episode Interactive. Going public in 2014, the platform has many hundreds of games available.
